On September 30, according to media reports, after launching 102ex and 103ex concept cars, Rolls Royce is now preparing to launch its first pure electric model – the new Rolls Royce spectre electric vehicle, which is planned to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Previously, there were rumors that Rolls Royce’s first pure electric model may share parts with future BMW models, but Rolls Royce denied them. Rolls Royce issued a statement saying that spectre will adopt Rolls Royce’s own new spaceframe architecture. This aluminum platform made its debut on the Rolls Royce phantom flagship car in 2017, and the curinan and Gusteau fuel models also came from this platform. For Rolls Royce spectre, the scalable spaceframe platform has been transformed into a compatible pure electric power system. Rolls Royce integrated the electrification planning in the initial design process of the model, making it easier to support the R & D of electric vehicles.
Rolls Royce not only announced the plan of spectre electric car, but also showed the official pictures of Rolls Royce prototype car wearing camouflage materials to the outside world. The outline of the car is very similar to the phantom of Rolls Royce. It has a long hood, two door body, suicide door and sliding back roof. The body part retains the classic proportion of Rolls Royce, but it adopts a more sexy arc and conspicuous circumference. The design elements adopted by spectre make the outside world believe that this may be the pure electric version of the phantom of Rolls Royce, and the potential convertible version of spectre may be used as an alternative to the Yao Ying sports car. Phantom and Yao Ying are the oldest two Rolls Royce cash models, which are about to reach the end of their lives.
The Rolls Royce spectre prototype will be tested for 2.5 million miles in various driving conditions and all terrain environments around the world. In addition, it will be simulated for 400 years. After that, the car will be delivered to the first customer in the fourth quarter of 2023.
